o amuse themselves they wrote funny songs. And after they had written a bunch of them, they thought they might increase their amusement by actually performing these songs for anyone unwise enough to listen. When Chautauqua Center agreed to host their debut performance, Scheherazade and her friends nearly doubled over in laughter. Very amusing, indeed!!
nd what was so funny?
ell, for one thing, none of them were musicians !! . . . at least, not at first. They were truly terrible,
and they knew it. That's what was so funny. Those people at Chautauqua Center had no idea what they were in for. But that wasn't all. Some of the songs themselves were, er, rather blunt, and dealt with a few potentially objectionable topics.
hey named themselves the
Art Sluts
, and they went forth and performed. But much to their surprise and chagrin, their listeners loved them. Something had gone terribly, terribly wrong! Scheherazade and her friends continued to perform, but no matter how bad they were, their following still grew. They broke more than a few Sluthead hearts when they finally disbanded for good, two years later.
ery amusing, indeed. Some things simply cannot be explained.
