nd that means ... | |
... lots and lots of lights
and garlands! |
|
cheherazade knows | |
how easily it could all
descend into a nightmare of tacky chaos. And there have been good
years and bad years for Christmas decorating in Little Bohemia!
But most of the time it is beautiful, or at
least Scheherazade thinks it is. |
|
he tradition of the lights began
when Scheherazade inherited
three very long and very unruly strings of lights from a local business.
The proprietor had grown weary of untangling them each year, and of
searching for the burnt out bulbs that would prevent the strands from
lighting. Scheherazade
shouldered this responsibility willingly, and with enthusiasm. |
|
ith each successive year
green garlands were added,
and then some new lights, and then more garlands and shiny strings of
beads and other ornaments (many of which are also sort of unconventional). What had begun as an almost accidental opportunity to decorate has grown into an irresistable tradition. Scheherazade believes
that Little Bohemia is a better place because of it. |
